She gives no thought to the way of life; her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it. -Proverbs 5:6
If we waver in our commitment to God’s design for sex only within marriage by allowing little compromises OR by seeking to adapt the Word to suit our circumstances… we are flirting with wandering ways.
- Know and desire God’s plan for marriage.
- Agree exclusivity and oneness is good.
- Only thing undergirding our support of marriage done God’s way is our personal desire to have it for ourselves.
- It’s easy to commit to God’s way, but do we stay committed to it if it’s something we can’t get for ourselves? Do we stay committed to His way if His plan doesn’t pan out to be all we expected? This is the real test of the purity of our commitment to God’s design for marriage.
- Trusting God’s goodness—not only in His designs but also in how He works those designs into our individual lives—is crucial for moral purity.

An old devotional, but still relevant. Great Bible study last night. Brothers & sisters in Christ, persevere in purity. And it does not just pertain to sexual purity. Purity is having your heart wholly for the Lord. A heart that is not “watered down or polluted by lesser things”.
Lay aside everything that gets in the way of having a whole-hearted passion for Christ.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. -Hebrews 12:1
If there is a hindrance, the Holy Spirit will let us know, if we are willing to know.
You will
- Loss of interest in prayer
- Loss of interest in spending time in His Word
- Loss of joy
- Loss of peace
- Diminishing fruitfulness.

Don’t compromise. Flee from sin.
